Why don’t you write about your Christian faith? This is a question I’m not sure how to answer yet. The bible states clearly “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And surely I’m with you always to the very end of age”. - Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV). This makes evangelism a key part of my faith.
So one may ask what is my problem. My problem is with my brothers and sister and in fact the entire church. Am I to go into the world to preach about peace, love and unity when we as a family do not demonstrate any of them? When churches are in feuds over who has the finest chapel, which pastor delivers the best sermon and other petty issues.
Am I to tell the world the adultery and fornication as well as the many other practices that we frown upon is sin, when my brothers and sisters are seen engaging in such activities? Truly the gospel cannot be preached if a change does not occur. “You hypocrite, first take out the plank in your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye”. - Matthew 7:5 (NIV). Christ himself asked us to so.
I am therefore writing this to all out there who feel the way I feel. We have been quite for too long, it is time to rise and impact our family, for the world must hear the message of their maker, and our own brothers must not be a standing block. Do not be worried about what to say as the scripture says “for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what to say – Luke 12:12 (NIV). It is not going to be easy but remember that even your savior didn’t get it easy but in the end glory awaits.
